to the web site of the Office of Institutional Research (OIR) at
Middle Tennessee State University.
The
mission of the Office of Institutional Research is to support the
university's goals to promote academic quality by enhancing learning, teaching, scholarship, and service and by celebrating MTSU’s distinctive strengths; promote individual student success and responsibility for accomplishments through fostering a student-centered learning culture; promote partnerships and public service to enhance educational, social, cultural, and economic well-being. Specifically, the Office of Institutional Research supports the Strategic Directions of the University to increase student academic attainment and encourage students to engage in life-long learning; develop and implement a comprehensive, strategic assessment process that informs the alignment and use of resources; and, create a campus culture that values partnerships and public service. To facilitate this process, our office provides data and analysis
to support effectiveness, institutional and departmental planning,
decision-making, recruitment, and faculty instruction. We serve
as the chief administrative official for providing information about
the institution to external regulatory agencies such as federal,
state and regional governments, the Tennessee
Board of Regents, the Tennessee
Higher Education Commission, guidebook publishers and other
external publics.
The
Office of Institutional Research is located in room 155 of Jones
Hall. Regular office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (CST) Monday
