The Steering Committee is a small working group of MTSU faculty who are committed to mathematics, science, and technology education and are strong supporters of TMSTEC. The role of the Committee includes (but is not limited):

• To helping formulate the appropriate vision for the Center.
  
• To providing assistance and guidance in planning the Center programs and activities.
• To fostering collaboration between the Center and the departments in Basic and applied Science,
• To enhancing cooperation and communication between the College of Education and the College of Basic and Applied Sciences in the development and implementation of programs of distinction in undergraduate and graduate science and mathematics education.
• To encouraging the involvement of more scientists, mathematicians and engineers in teacher education and staff development of inservice teachers.
• To promoting the Center and its activities both on campus and off campus.
