FOCUS Policies and Standards
This website contains information on, and provides an opportunity to comment about, policies and standards proposed in response to passage of the FOCUS Act.
The FOCUS Act Transition Team is reviewing all MTSU policies and all TBR policies and guidelines to determine which will need to be retained, revised or deleted once governance under the MTSU Board of Trustees becomes effective.
The Team has also adopted a hierarchical system to distinguish matters which will need approval by both the President and the Board of Trustees, and those which only require the President’s approval. The first type will be designated as "Policies" and the latter will be called "Standards". A third category will be designated as "Procedures". Procedures are protocols or processes used within departments, divisions or offices that do not need review at a higher level. Procedures will not be included in the FOCUS Act review website.
In reviewing these documents, please do not comment on the formatting or numbering of the item, but limit comments to content. At present and for tracking purposes, a policy or standard will retain its current MTSU or TBR designation.A new system of numbering and consistent formatting will be put in place at a point in the future.
