Ace Learning Center Sick Policy

If a child becomes ill during the day, his or her parent will be contacted immediately. Parents are asked to pick up their child and keep them at home if they exhibit any of the following symptoms: fever, skin eruptions, vomiting, excessive diarrhea, or redness of the throat or eyes.

Children must be kept at home until they have been free of symptoms and fever for 24 hours. When calling to notify teachers of a child's absence, parents are asked to report any contagious diseases for the protection of the other children attending Project Help. Some common childhood illnesses are: strep throat, pink eye, measles, mumps, head lice, and fifth's disease. Children are required to be up-to-date with their immunization schedules. Information on each child's health status must be up dated annually.

Our primary goal is the safety and protection of your child. To ensure children's safety, Project Help staff members will not allow a child to leave the center with anyone other than the parent unless the parent gives prior notice and the person's name is on file as an authorized individual. Maintaining an updated list of people authorized to pick up your child is essential for preventing complications when unforeseen circumstances arise. Persons picking up your child will be asked to show picture identification.
