Enrolling at MTSU

 Becoming a student is a four-step process:

1. Admission or Re-admission

2. Academic Advising

3. Class Selection

4. Pay Fees or Confirm on RaiderNet

Admission or Readmission

FORMER STUDENTS who have not attended MTSU for at least one regular term semester must complete a reenrollment form.
Registration information along with specific information concerning the selection of classes will be mailed to reenrolling students.

ALL NEW STUDENTS, including part-time students, must complete their admissions credentials and be accepted for admission.
Student registration information will be mailed to all accepted students.

Application Deadlines

Undergraduate Admission Application deadline for the Spring term is December 15.

Undergraduate Admission Deadline for Priority Admission for  the Fall term is February 15.

Undergraduate Admission Application deadline for the Fall term is July 1.

Students who apply and are admitted after these deadlines will be subject to a late fee.

Deficiencies

First-time freshmen, who are 21 years of age or older, who do not have valid ACT/SAT scores by the first day of class or transfer students without previous English or math coursework will be required to participate in an additional testing program prior to registration. This program will help in course placement and will identify students who will be required to enroll in academic enrichment courses.

Students admitted with high school unit deficiencies in English and/or math must complete the appropriate assessments tests, be advised by an academic advisor, and register to take appropriate course(s) upon enrollment to remove deficiencies.

Residency

Questions concerning undergraduate residency should be directed to the Admissions Office in Cope Administration Building 209 before students register for classes.

Note to transient (visiting) students:

Registration at MTSU includes prerequisite checking which may require documentation of course completion. Students who are prevented from enrolling in a course due to a prerequisite but have completed the prerequisite at another institution should present a transcript to the academic department of the requested course.
