About Me:
My name is Carmen Merritt.  I am an 18 year old freshman from Ridgeway High School in Memphis, TN.  I have a twin sister who is also attending Middle Tennessee with me.  I enjoy having fun with my friends and meeting new people.   I am majoring in nursing at MT.

As I unpacked all of my belongings, took my last trip to Wal-Mart, and waved good bye to my family, I asked my roommates, “What do we do now?”  There we were sitting in our apartment not knowing what to do next.  So we decided to go on the campus and meet new people.  We were so excited to finally be attending college. We bought our books, MTSU apparel, and learned our way around.  So if you don’t know what to do in your spare time there are bulletins posted all around with updates on what’s going on. That night on campus Indiana Jones was on film for everyone to come out and see, the next night they had more free food, games, and activites to participate in.

In the following day school was in session. I had to learn the campus bus routes, the names of various buildings, and how to adjust to this new place.  But soon I started learning the ends and outs of everything, and pretty soon I was blending in with everyone else.  There is one thing I learned in my first few weeks as a freshman, College is how you make it. There are many events on campus that you can attend, so if you participate in the different events that are around you it will make your transition from high school to college smooth.
