Health Insurance
One of the unwise things one can do is to find himself or herself without maintaining health insurance while residing in a foreign country for an extended period. While hospitalization is second to none in the US, it is extremely costly for anyone to afford it individually.

It is therefore prudent to purchase health insurance coverage as soon as you arrive in the US. MTSU is now requiring that international students possess health/medical insurance coverage provided through the Tennessee Board of Regents. You will not be permitted to register for classes without maintaining insurance coverage. You may ask on how to purchase the insurance at the International Programs and Services Office.

Students have two options for health insurance:

Insurance can be purchased through MTSU.

or
Students can provide proof of equivalent coverage from a private insurance carrier. If using private insurance, the insurance company must complete our insurance form and mail it back to our office.
