How to Schedule an Advising Appointment

Students are encouraged to check RaiderNet to see who their assigned advisor is and contact that person to schedule an appointment. If no one is listed, use the guide below to help you determine the college that you should be advised by. Please follow the information listed to help in scheduling an appointment. Be prepared to provide your M# when calling or going online to schedule your appointment. We also encourage you to read more about making the most of your advising appointment.

Undeclared major and/or taking prescribed course(s)(K classes)
Education major (not yet admitted to Teacher Education program)
Mass Communication (up to 45 earned hours)
Pre-Nursing (all freshmen up to 30 earned hours & all students with GPA below a 2.8)

Make the most of your advising appointment by showing up prepared...

Show up early or on-time for your advising appointment. Call to cancel and/or reschedule your appointment well in advance if you are unable to make it so another student may take your appointment time.
Prepare a selection of courses. Include those that you would like to take and/or think you may need for your degree.
Check RaiderNet account for registration holds.
Bring a list of questions. Get the most out of your appointment and have all of your questions answered at one time.
