Andrew Symonds joined the Aerospace Department in February of 2008. Prior to that Mr. Symonds worked in Admissions at Jacksonville State University as an Admissions Counselor and the Middle Tennessee State University Admissions Office as an Assistant Director. He received his B.A. from JSU (2003) and his M.S. from JSU (2005). His professional and collegiate memberships have included the Delta Chi Fraternity, the Chi Theta Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota, Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Delta Kappa, the Alabama Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (ALACRAO), the Tennessee Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (TACRAO), the Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (SACRAO), and the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA).

Mr. Symonds provides academic advising and guidance to current and potential students; he works primarily with new freshmen and transfer students, but assists all students within the Aerospace Department and within the College of Basic and Applied Sciences. He reviews student overload, course substitution and Academic Fresh Start requests before final approval.

  Accreditation
MTSU Aerospace had been accredited since 1992. The Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) has accredited all five of the Aerospace concentrations!  For more information, click here.

To apply for a flight lab, follow the steps below.

Step 1:
Download and read the Additional Information Packet thoroughly and review the additional costs of flight labs.

Step 2:
Print and read the “Lab Request Form” for the semester you wish to enroll in a flight lab. Sign and submit it to the flight school secretary within the application period specified. Neither early nor late submissions will be accepted or considered.

Fall Lab Request Form     Application Period: February 1 – July 15

Spring Lab Request Form Application Period: September 1 – Nov 15

Summer Lab Request Form Application Period: February 1 – April 15
