A NOTE from CPT Jennifer Phelps, Class of 2003 about the CPT Pierre Piche Memorial Scholarship:
On November 15, 2003, CPT Pierre Piche was killed in a helicopter crash in Mosul, Iraq while deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and a member of the Reserved Officer Training Corp (ROTC) unit where he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in May 2000. The MTSU ROTC commissioning class of 2000 is raising funds to have a scholarship named in his honor. Cherish Piche, his wife, started the fund after his death. We would now like to see it grow and be awarded to cadets and students of the same distinguished caliber as Pierre. Ranger Challenge, Forrest Raiders, dedicated, committed, friend, and leader are some of the many words that come to mind when remembering Pierre.
