The MTSU Art Department offers seven scholarships to art majors who have been enrolled
for at least one semester and who have a minimum grade point average of 3.0. Monetary
amounts of scholarships in the Art Department depend upon yearly private contributions.
The Charles W. and Ola Belle Massey Memorial Art Scholarship is given to two Studio Art majors. Applicants for this award must demonstrate promise
with a proven academic record. In addition,priority consideration is given first to
Tennessee State residents from Wilson county,then to those from counties in Middle
Tennessee,and finally to those from other areas of Tennessee. Additional consideration
given to minority individuals, particularly Native Americans and African Americans.
The Dr. Charles M. Brandon Scholarship in Art is given to one junior or senior Studio Art major. Applicants for this award must
also demonstrate promise with a proven academic record.
The Hester Ray Rogers Scholarship is based on commitment to Art Education. Additional criteria are a demonstrated compassion
for people, loyalty to the Art Department and the University, and demonstrated academic
excellence.
The Art Enrichment Scholarships are awarded to three oustanding Art students: one Freshman, one Sophomore, and one
Junior.
The Morris Brandon Scholarship is awarded to the most promising second-semester Junior Art student.
The Charles Massey Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding Upper Division Art Student.
The John and Elva Griffin and Lon Nuell Memorial Art Scholarships are awarded to
