The Biology Major
The Biology major requires a minimum of 42 semester hours including a biology core for all concentrations of 29 semester hours:
BIOL 1110/1111 and BIOL 1120/1121 (a 2 semester General Biology sequence)
BIOL 2230/2231 Microbiology
BIOL 3250/3251 Genetics
BIOL 3400 General Ecology
BIOL 3500 Evolution
BIOL 4110/4111 Animal Physiology or BIOL 4210/4211 Cell and Molecular Biology or BIOL 4500 Plant Physiology
BIOL 4200 Senior Seminar
Other requirements include:
MATH 1910 and one of the following: BIOL 4350/4351 or MATH 2050 or MATH 1920 and
CHEM 1110/1111, 1120/1121, and 2030/2031 or 3010/3011
Every Biology major is required to declare a concentration area. Each area requires 10 semester hours to be selected from a set of designated courses.
