Graduate Business Studies


The College of Business is accredited through both the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Business degree programs require a Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) score and a bachelor's degree.

Admission is based on a GMAT index score of 950 (200 x undergraduate grade point average + GMAT score must be equal or greater than 950). Students are required to complete the degree within six years of their first core class.

The business degree programs available include:

  • Master of Business Administration
  • Master of Science in Accounting and Information Systems with an emphasis in Accounting or an emphasis in Information Systems

Graduate Programs in Economics and Business Education

The graduate programs in economics and business education are not included in the AACSB accreditation of the College. The programs are located within the Departments of Economics and Finance and the Department of Business Education, Marketing Education ,and Office Management.

Graduate Advising

The M.S. degree in accounting and information systems programs are advised by Dr. Kevin James for students concentrating in accounting, and Dr. Jeff Clark for students concentrating in information systems.

The M.A., M.B.E. and Ph.D. degrees are advised through the department offices. Dr. Gregory Givens (615) 494-8914 is the contact for the graduate degrees in Economics and Dr. Stephen Lewis (615) 898-2902 is the contact for the graduate business education degree.
