Economic Costs of Terrorism, November 6, 2009
Walter Enders, Professor and Lee Bidgood, Chair of Economics and Finance at the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa, AL), will be presenting "Measuring the Economic Costs of Terrorism" Friday, November 6th, in the Business and Aerospace Building Room S128 at 12:30 p.m..
This event is sponsored by the MTSU's Department of Economics and Finance, Distinguished Lecture Series, and Economics Club.

Accounting CPE Day, December 10, 2009
The 1st annual Department of Accounting CPE Day at Middle Tennessee State University will be held Thursday, December 10th, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., in the Business and Aerospace Building, State Farm Lecture Hall.
Seminars during the conference include presentations on accounting and financial reporting, auditing, taxation, and ethics presented by several nationally known speakers. Participants can earn up to 8 hours of CPE credit. The cost is $150, which includes all seminars, materials, and lunch.
The sessions include:
- Ponzi Schemes and Fraud, Dr. Sandy Benson, Assistant Professor of Business Law. Dr.Benson recently published an article in The CPA Journal on this topic.
- Tennessee Ethics, Mark Crocker, Executive Director of the Tennessee Board of Accountancy.
- FASB Update, Dr. Paula Thomas, Professor of Accounting.
- Audit Update, Bill Mooningham, retired partner from Ernst & Young and Accounting Instructor.
- Tax Update, Dr. Tim Koski, Professor of Accounting.
- General Accounting Ethics, Dr. Kevin James, Associate Professor of Accounting.
- International Financial Reporting Standards, Dr. Jeannie Harrington, Associate Professor of Accounting
- GASB Update, Dr. G. Robert Smith, Jr. (Smitty), Associate Professor of Accounting.
