FALL 2000 NEWS

We have started this semester with several new improvements in our services. All the projects were implemented using Technology Access Fee (TAF) funds.

New Computers

The Business Computer Lab has fifty new Dell Optiplex GX110 computers. Each of these computers is equipped with a Pentium III processor running at 733Mhz, 128 MB RAM, 10G B hard disk and Windows 2000 Professional. The computers are available to all MTSU students in the Businesslab (BAS S137) and are configured to run a variety of applications such as MS Office 2000, Minitab for Windows V12, Glencoe Keyboarding (CDP) and, Internet Access.

New Printing System

GoPrint
The Businesslab has also implemented a new printing system. The GoPrint system is a fully integrated turnkey printing management system that provides self-service, ID card-accessed printing from network attached printers and workstations. The system uses a kiosk-style PayStation that enables students to access and pay for their specific print jobs using their MTSU Student Id.The Businesslab charges 4 ยข per page to cover toner and paper expenses. This system allows for less wasted paper and toner and less waiting time for print jobs. For your convenience, the Business Computer Lab has installed a Diebold Value Terminal that allows you to add funds to your Raiders account.

New Printers

The Business Computer Lab now have four new HP Laser Jet 8100 DN Printers. These printers have 24 MB of standard memory which makes it easy to print even large, complex documents. It contains a new 32-ppm engine with 166-MHz RISC processor that reduces waiting time for output. These printers are designed to print up to 150,000 pages a month. The printers are available to all MTSU students in the Businesslab located at BAS S137 (there is a small charge for printing).
