AMX Touch Panel Troubleshooting

The AMX Touch Panel screen is the control center for all audio/visual equipment int he master classroom. You use it every time you need to project a video, a DVD, teacher's computer, laptop or document camera image. The following are troubleshooting tips for the BAS Master Classroom AMX Touch Panel equipment.

AMX Control not responding.
1. Check the unit has power. Make sure the green/yellow led in the bottom of the unit is on.
2. Check the Equipment Rack to the side of the desk is on (make sure red On/Off button to the top right side of the rack is in the On position).
3. Make sure to push buttons for 1 second. If you push the buttons too quickly all commands associated with that button might not complete. If you hold the button too long, the unit may get scrambled.
4. Sometimes the unit may get scrambled. If the problem still persists do the following to reset the system:
  1. Turn off the OHP manually using power button in OHP (may need to climb on top of a desk!)
  2. Turn off ELMO manually.
  3. Turn off projection screen using wall-mounted controls.
  4. Turn off Equipment Rack using the red On/Off button.
  5. Remove AMX remote battery for 10 seconds.
  6. Reset battery in AMX Control and place it in charging cradle.
  7. Make sure AMX/cradle power cable is connected (the unit may not be re-charging properly).
  8. Turn on Equipment Rack using the red On/Off button.
  9. Use the AMX normally.
Cannot project Laptop
1. Make sure the laptop VGA video output is connected to the spare VGA cable in the ELMO unit.
2. Some ELMO units are older models that don't support the remote control commands. To project using these units, you must first turn on the ELMO manually before pressing the "DOC CAM" button in the AMX touch panel, then you press the "LAPTOP" button to show the lap top screen.
Cannot project Laptop
