How to update (faculty/staff) personal web site pages in frank
The university has upgraded to a new Content Management System (CMS) for their main
website. However, that has not affected the personal pages in frank.mtsu.edu. Therefore,
you should be able to update those pages as you always have. The application you are
using to update your web pages needs to support "secure FTP" (sftp).
- Using your web editing application, enter the site as sftp://frank.mtsu.edu. (NOTE:
A lot of faculty and staff use the application - Microsoft Expression Web, Microsoft
Studio Web; or, something very similar, to edit their web pages.)

- Then, open the site. You may get a windows that reads:

- Selecting "Edit live site now" will allow you to connect to the ftp site and browse
the files. You can also create a web site locally and then uploaded later using the
other option. In any case, you will be asked for credentials. So enter the username
and password for your frank account. You will be presented with the contents of the
folder for your username.

- Remember that the web site pages are inside the "public_html" folder, so you must
go there - this is the root of the web site. You simply double click on the "public_html"
folder to open it. There you will see all the web pages listed. The index.html is
the home page.

- Open the pages you want to modify/update, and make the necessary changes. As always,
click on the "save icon" to save your recent changes. Last, always clear the cache
of the browser (use CTRL-F5).
