Aerospace (B.S., M.S., M.Ed.) The MTSU Aerospace Department is one of the largest in the nation and includes a first rate professional pilot training and airplane maintenance program.
Agribusiness & Agriscience (B.S.) Students from the School of Agribusiness and Agriscience routinely perform well above the average on the National Agriculture Achievement Exams. Student learning activities extend beyond the classroom--internships, farm laboratories, student clubs, and judging teams.
Biology (B.S., M.S., M.S.P.S.) The Biology Department enrolls every student on campus and last year the Biology faculty won all three major university awards—teaching, research, and service. They are home for a nationally recognized recycling program that provides scholarships to MTSU students.
Chemistry (B.S., M.S., D.A.) The Department of Chemistry offers D.A., M.S., and B.S. degrees (health professional and ACS accredited). Research areas include analytical, biochemistry, chemical education, computational, environmental, inorganic, materials, medicinal, organic and physical. Home of Phi Mu Delta (pre-professional club), award winning Chemistry Club, and National NQR Center.
Computer Science (B.S., M.S.) The Computer Science Department was among the first undergraduate programs in the state of Tennessee to have its undergraduate program accredited by ABET/CAC. This rigorous curriculum produces graduates who have excellent job opportunities.
Engineering Technology (B.S., M.S.) Engineering Technology and Industrial Studies has served as the home for the Russell Chair of Excellence in Manufacturing, the Environmental Science Program, and the new Concrete Industry Management Program. ET students design and build a number of vehicles each year for national competitions.
Mathematical Sciences (B.S., M.S., M.S.T., M.S.P.S., Ph.D. C.S, Ph.D M.S.E., Ph.D. M.B.) Mathematical Sciences offers degrees in mathematics education, pure and applied mathematics, statistics and actuarial science. The math faculty is involved with the Advanced Placement Test, National Mathematics Standards, and in using technology to teach mathematics.
Military Science Since 1950, the MTSU Military Science department has produced numerous outstanding United States Army Officers. Committed to developing leadership and management skills through hands-on application, the "Blue Raider Battalion" serves as a distinct training and educational program for those who desire to excel either in the military or civilian sector.
Nursing (BSN, MSN, courses in the MS-PS) The School of Nursing offers an accredited baccalaureate degree in nursin. They offer courses through RODP for the MS-PS degree in the area of Health Care Informatics. They also offer an MSN degree through the RODP in the concentrations of Nursing Education, Informatics, Nursing Education and Advanced Practice Nursing.
Physics & Astronomy (B.S.) The Physics and Astronomy Department, established in 1995, places a strong emphasis on faculty-student interactions. The department requires an undergraduate research thesis for every physics major.
