Beverly "Marzee" Woodward, Director
Mrs. Woodward has worked in the Early Childhood field for 29 years. Mrs. Woodward holds a license to teach from the Tennessee Department of Education, a B.S degree in Elementary Education from MTSU, and a Masters Degree in Education from Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee. She also has an endorsement in Occupational Child Care with a strong influence on early childhood. This is Mrs. Woodward's tenth year at the university with seven years as the Infant/Toddler teacher. Marzee (Ms. Zee) enjoys her role as director as she spends time with parents, students, children and teachers alike. It is a very busy job but one she loves doing.
Andrea Cathey, Lead teacher/Mentor, Preschool
Mrs. Cathey, "Ms. Andrea", is new to the teaching staff at the Child Development Center. We are excited to have her. She comes to us from Franklin County School System as a Preschool teacher there for 9 years. While in that capacity she used Creative Curriculum, as we do, and is familiar with both NAEYC and ITERS/ECERS standards, She will serve as both the preschool teacher and a mentor for the college students enrolled in 4300 Preschool Practicum. Mrs. Cathey is currently working on her Master's degree.
Allison Brown, Lead teacher/Mentor, Infant/Toddler Program
Mrs. Brown (Ms. Alli) has worked in the Early Childhood field for 15 years. She has teaching experience with children birth through elementary school. She serves as a model/mentor to MTSU students enrolled in CDFS 4380 and as lead teacher in the Infant/Toddler Program. She counsels MTSU students throughout their semester on developmentally appropriate practices and professional teaching methods. Mrs. Brown holds a license to teach from the Tennessee Department of Education, a B.S degree in Elementary Education from MTSU, and is currently completing her Masters Degree. She enjoys spending time with the children and witnessing the amazing development that occurs.
