Getting a Faculty Advisor

MTSU students are assigned faculty advisors during their first semester of enrollment. Typically, new students meet with the College Academic Advisors to receive orientation, academic, and registration information.

Once enrolled at MTSU, students should contact the academic departments of their majors for assignment of faculty advisors (see departments/Majors link to the left). Faculty advisors guide students through the remainder of their academic programs, assisting with official paperwork, referral letters, internship placements, etc. Faculty advisors serve as mentors to their advisees, and in many cases, will assist students with job recommendations and provide information regarding graduate school opportunities.
