John Lynch, a former member of the News and Public Affairs office, chronicled Middle Tennessee State University's history through video segments titled Centennial Countdown. The segments, that aired from 2006-2008 on a news magazine called "Middle Tennessee Record,"; revealed various chapters of MTSU's history including The first day of Class, Breaking Racial Barriers, and Female Pioneers.
Produced with the help of a stable of talented graduate assistants, the short vignettes included recorded live interviews and incorporated rare video footage and still photographs. Lynch retired on June 30, 2010 and is now enrolled in MTSU's public history Ph.D. program.
Each month we will feature a different Centennial Countdown segment in the Scrapbook section of the Centennial website. If you have comments or questions about the segments please let us know at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
