EDUCATION/INTERESTS:

(1991) B.S. Chemistry, Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne FL, M.S. and Ph.D. in Chemistry, University of Akron, Akron OH. Analytical Chemistry: mass spectrometry, methods development. Dr. Lee teaches Introductory General Chemistry, (CHEM 111 & 112), Quantitative Analytical Chemistry (CHEM 222) and Topics in Analytical Chemistry (CHEM 623). Recent research projects include solid phase extraction of metal ions from water, the effects of boric acid on the initial setting of ordinary Portland cement, and the use of GC/MS to measure kinetic isotope effects in stable isotope labeled nucleosides. Dr. Lee has also written an introductory textbook titled "A Beginner's Guide to Mass Spectral Interpretation", which is available from John Wiley & Sons.
