Getting the Best Bang for Your Gas Dollars
By Sarah Martin
Given the current gas prices everyone is looking to maximize the value that they get out of a tank of gas. While the average Joe isn't going to impact the price of a gallon of gasoline directly, there are many things that you can do to get better mileage and in doing so ease the pain of your pocket book a little.
Maintaining your vehicle is the best way to ensure that you are getting the best use out of it. Changing your oil when your supposed to, keeping your air filter changed out, and keeping the correct tire pressure are all things that more often than not you can do yourself. Doing these things not only keeps your gas bill lower, it also keeps your car running longer and minimizes the need for expensive repair bills. Things are going to break down no matter what, but keeping your vehicle properly maintained will go a long way in keeping those repairs to a minimum.
In order to help our commuting student body the Riding Raiders leadership has compiled a list of links that can give you more information on keeping your vehicle in tip top shape.
