Quotes
“the ever-funny, ever-eloquent Claire Porter”
Jennifer Dunning, Jan 4, 2008 (New York Times)
“inimitable comedienne”
Elizabeth Zimmer, Sept, 2006 (Village Voice)
“delightful”
Roslyn Sulcas, Sept, 2006 (New York Times)
“In her hysterical 'Fund Raiser,' Porter took the role of a demented development
director, who, with rubbery limbs and lips moistened by her sales pitch, would
stop at nothing in her 'naked appeal' to extort contributions from a reluctant
private sector. The public sector, or at least this audience, was ecstatic.”
Robert Johnson, Nov 2006 (The Star-Ledger)
Claire Porter's hilarious Interview (2007) is superbly finished, down to the
comedic timing and pathos of every gesture and word delivered by this
harassed, overeager job applicant.
Deborah Jowitt, 9/11/07 (The Village Voice)
Claire Porter's “Interview” was a sad but hilarious deconstruction of a job
interview and a life.
