M.A. Program

A completed application to the M.A. program in economics consists of a completed application form, an official undergraduate transcript (a bachelor's degree or equivalent is required for admittance), an official GRE score reported by ETS (MTSU's code number for reporting is 1466), and three letters of recommendation. Applicants must have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 and a GRE score on the combined verbal and quantitative sections of 800.

Ph.D. Program

A completed application to the Ph.D. program in economics consists of a completed application form, an official undergraduate transcript (a bachelor's degree or equivalent is required for admittance), an official GRE score reported by ETS (MTSU's code number for reporting is 1466), and three letters of recommendation. Applicants must have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 and a GRE score on the combined verbal and quantitative sections of 1100. However, applicants to the Ph.D. program are not required to have earned a master's degree. The program is intended to be a full-time course of study and priority in admission decisions will be given to persons intending full-time enrollment.

Deadlines

The application deadline to be considered for financial assistance is March 31. (Note that the Ph.D. program begins in early July with a required mathematics preparatory course, ECON 6100.)

Application

All applications and supporting documents must be submitted to the College of Graduate Studies.
