Courses in the Department of Educational Leadership are designed to meet the professional needs of students planning to teach. Persons preparing to teach in the secondary school must earn a major in an endorsable teaching field, complete appropriate general education requirements, and minor in Secondary Education. The Secondary Education minor is offered through this department. A non-teaching minor in Education is also offered.
Academic Advising Students planning to teach a particular subject at either the high school or junior high school level must have two advisors - one in the academic major (the subject area in which students are preparing to teach) and a professional education minor advisor (an advisor for the professional education courses).

Post-Baccalaureate Students The post-baccalaureate teacher education program is designed for individuals who have completed baccalaureate degrees but who did not complete teacher preparation. Post-baccalaureate students seeking licensure should contact the Teacher Licensure Office to have coursework requirements determined.
