SOAR

The SOAR experience as of January 2010 is no longer required.  A classroom experience will be integrated into the ELED 3050/3070 Course, Creating Learning Environments.

The SOAR Panel is not required for completion of the SOAR experience or Admission to the Teacher Education Program.  However, the interview is one element of the process and requirement to the teacher education program of Middle Tennessee State University. 

WHAT IS REQUIRED: Complete an interview with each of the following:
1) Faculty member in professional education at MTSU
2) Faculty member in the major or in general studies at MTSU
3) Classroom teacher practitioner (PreK-12) in a public school

Interviewers Defined:
Education Faculty: A member of the Department of Elementary and Special Education, Department of Educational Leadership, or the Department of Human Sciences teaching courses designated ELED, READ, SPED, FOED, SPSE, YOED, and CDFS.
Non-education Faculty: A faculty member teaching academic courses in any department of the university other than those listed above.
Teacher Practitioner: (PreK-12) A teacher or administrator in a public school system grades PreK-12.
