Dr. Barnett teaches courses in drama and playwriting, and she coordinates the Visiting Artist's Seminar (UH 3200) for the University Honors College. She has been awarded the Bob Womack Distinguished Faculty Award (2006) and the MTSU Distinguished Research Award (2003). Her plays have had productions, workshops, or staged readings at the East Haddam Stage Company (Connecticut), n.u.f.a.n. ensemble (Chicago), People’s Branch Theatre (Nashville), Portland Theatre Works (Oregon), and Venus Theatre (Maryland), and at the Mid-America Theatre Conference Playwriting Symposium (Minneapolis, Kansas City, Chicago). She’s currently an Ingram New Works Playwright-in-Residence at the Tennessee Repertory Theatre.
