Claudia Barnett is the fall 2011 Downstage Left resident playwright at Chicago’s Stage Left Theatre. Her book I Love You Terribly: Six Plays will be published by Carnegie Mellon in 2012. Her plays have recently been developed or produced by Crack the Glass Theatre Company, Independent Actors Theatre, Metropolitan Playhouse, Stratton Players, and Truffle Theatre Company. Her criticism has recently been included in Modern Drama and Women’s Studies: An Inter-disciplinary Journal. She has taught abroad in France and the Czech Republic. At MTSU, where she has been awarded the Distinguished Research Award and the Bob Womack Distinguished Faculty Award, she teaches courses in modern and contemporary drama and playwriting, and she coordinates the Visiting Artist’s Seminar (UH 3200) for the Honors College.
