Dr. Mapp teaches courses in computer assisted instruction, southern literature, nineteenth century American literature, composition, and Romantic literature. The English Department's "Alpha Geek," Dr. Mapp is currently creating a literature textbook for Mayfield PubIishing and continues to write the workbooks that accompany the Harbrace Handbook. In 1997 he won the South Atlantic Modern Language Association Outstanding Teaching Award. His great love (in addition to his wife and two daughters) is fly fishing.
