Karen received her B.A. in English from Palm Beach Atlantic University and her MFA from Benninton Writing Seminars. Her book For Which He Stands: The True Tale of Castro, the CIA and a Catholic was published in 2001. She was the winner of the Nashville Scene's short story contest. Other short stories have appeared in literary journals such as Eureka, RiverWalk and Stickman Review. She is a board member of YEAH!, Youth Empowerment thru Arts and Humanities.
