LeAnne Garner is a Ph.D. candidate at Georgia State University. Her speciality is Nineteenth Century American literature and her secondary area of concentration is Victorian literature. She is currently working on her dissertation, which discusses transnationalism in Nineteenth Century American literature. LeAnne has presented papers at the Women's Studies Conference and the New Voices conference. She has also instructed a seminar on Portfolio Composition and been published as an editorial assistant. Most recently, she has contributed an entry to the American History Through Literature: 1820-1870 encyclopedia series and received an Outstanding Teaching Award from the English Department's Lower Division. LeAnne has been teaching English at the university level for the past 13 years.
