Playwright Laura Maria Censabella to Visit MTSU
Playwright Laura Maria Censabella will be on campus March 1-2. She will do a reading of her play Abandoned in Queens on Tuesday, March 2, at 4 pm in the Hazlewood Dining Room.

Censabella's plays have been produced or workshopped by the Philadelphia Festival for New Plays, the Working Theatre, the Women's Project, the Interact Theatre in LA, the American Living Room Series at the Ohio, the Athena Works Marathon,

the Belmont Italian American Playhouse, and the Ensemble Studio Theatre (where she is a member and runs the current Playwrights Unit). She been awarded two grants from the New York Foundation for the Arts and has been a two-time participant in the O'Neill Center's National Playwrights Conference. Her play Posing appeared in Poems and Plays number 5.

Censabella will be meeting with two classes as well and anyone
is welcome to attend. (The classes will have read Abandoned in Queens, which is on reserve at the library, in advance.) The

She will also be conducting a small workshop for students interested in playwriting. This will be on Monday, March 1 at 10 am. Contact Dr. Claudia Barnett (898-2887) to sign up for the workshop.
