JANICE DAUGHARTY TO READ

Janice Daugharty will be coming to MTSU do to a public reading on February 17 at 4:00 p.m. in the Hazlewood Dining Room in the James Union Building.

Daugharty is currently writer-in-residence at Valdosta State University. She is the author of one collection of short stories, Going Through the Change, and of five novels, Necessary Lies, Dark of the Moon, Pawpah Patch, Earl in the Yellow Shirt, and Whistle. Her newest book, Like a Sister, is coming out this fall. Earl in the Yellow Shirt was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize, and Chauncey Mabe wrote in the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinal that Daugharty has become "the hottest new writer in the venerable tradition of Southern fiction [and that] reviewers have drawn favorable comparisons to William Faulkner and Flannery O'Connor."
During her MTSU appearance, she will be reading from Earl in the Yellow Shirt and Whistle.
