Poetic and Critic Ron McFarland to Read at MTSU

Ron McFarland, Professor of English at the University of Idaho, will read from his work on from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. on March 19th in Peck Hall 318.

A native of Florida, McFarland grew up in Florida, and has lived and taught in Idaho since 1970, becoming the state's first Writer-in-Residence in 1984. His poetry has been collected in Stranger in Town: New and Selected Poems (2000) and in The Hemingway Poems (2001). He has written critical studies of David Wagoner, Norman MacLean, Tess Gallagher, and James Welch. Idaho State University Press will soon publish a collection of his Idaho fiction and non-fiction, Catching First Light.
