"Trees that Walk": Flannery O'Connor, Walker Percy,

Modernism, and Postmodernism


A talk, sponsored by the English Department and the Peck Fund, to be given on April 23 from 4 to 5:30 in Dining Room C of the James Union Building.
Dr. Sessions is a distinguished scholar of English and American literature, the author of the forthcoming Henry Howard, the Poet Earl of Surrey, a Life: "Enough Survives" (from Oxford University Press), due out in the fall of 1998. His "Where Does a Poet Come From?" will appear in the February 1998 issue of the Southern Review. He was a friend of both Flannery O'Connor (their correspondence appears in O'Connor's collected letters) and Walker Percy (Sessions' son is Percy's godson).
