W. D. Snodgrass to Read at MTSU

Poet W. D. Snodgrass will read from his poetry at MTSU on April 17 at 430 pm in the Hazlewood Dining Room of the JUB. This is Snodgrass' second visit to MTSU. The reading, sponsored by the Virginia Peck Trust Fund, is free and open to the public.

Snodgrass won the Pulitzer Prize for his first book of poetry, Heart's Needle (1959). Since, he has published a variety of other books, including New and Selected Poems, 1957-1987. He continues to work on an epic verse cycle entitled The Fuehrer Bunker, a series of monologues by Hitler, Eva Braun, Himmler, Goebbels, Goering, and other prominent Nazis. A Fellow of the Academy of American Poets, he is currently Professor of English at the University of Delaware.
