After finishing a tour of duty in the Navy during the Gulf War, I enrolled in community college. From there I transferred to Tulane University, where I studied Philosophy and Logic but ultimately got a degree in Accounting. Shortly thereafter, I realized that my real love was English language and literature, especially sixteenth century and Shakespeare. I moved to Nashville, TN and enrolled in the Masters program at Belmont University. I received my M.A. in 2005. The topic of my thesis was metonymy and language in the Henriad. I find myself content among scholars at MTSU, where I continue sixteenth century studies. I am pleased to be a Teaching Assistant because of the refreshing viewpoints students provide in every class. I write poetry and play the blues harmonica.
