Office: PH 105; Phone/Voice Mail: 904-8262
Linda Selby has a BA in English at MTSU and is working on her masters. She teaches English 1010 expository composition as a teaching assistant in the Graduate program and plans on finishing her thesis eventually. Her motto is "never rush a piece of art." Of course, art is in the eye of the beholder. She has also tutored students in the University Writing Center for several semesters. Besides working on her thesis which focuses on children's literature, Selby is also writing an adult mystery and is in the planning stages of a fantasy for children. Her favorite children's authors include Lucy M. Boston, Susan Cooper, Jenny Nimmo, Lawrence Yep, and Emily Rodda. Mystery writers that inspire her are Ann George, Ann B. Ross, Carolyn Hart, Rita Lakin and a favorite - Agatha Christie. A non-traditional student, Linda is impressed with the acceptance of her peers and is thrilled to be able to teach freshman for another semester.
