Holly Tipton is currently a 4th year PhD candidate specializing in Old English, Middle English, and Composition, Language, and Rhetoric.She is the TA Program Assistant for AY 2009-10. She was a Graduate Student Administrator for Teaching Assistants (now the position of Peer Mentor) from Summer 2007-Spring 2009, has taught both courses in the First Year Writing sequence, and plans on teaching 2030 in Spring 2010. She received her B.A. in English and Writing, History minor, from the University of Tampa in 2004, and her M.A. in English (Creative Writing) from the University of South Florida in 2006. Her master's thesis was a collection of poetry titled "Piety and Other Afflictions." She is a former Sigma Tau Delta chapter president, and a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Alpha Theta, Omicron Delta Kappa, the Southeastern Medieval Association, and NCTE/CCCC. She is currently experiencing the joys of dissertating, with a planned defense date of June 2010. Her dissertation is titled "The Gifstol: Almsgiving and Christian Kingship in The Exeter Book."
