A danish doctor commutes between his Danish town to his work at an African refugee camp. Anton, the doctor, and his wife Marianne, have two sons, and are struggling with the possibility of divorce. Their eldest son, Elias, is bullied at school, until Christian, a new boy from London, defends him. Elias and Christian form a strong friendship which is put to the test when Christian involves Elias in a dangerous act of revenge. In a Better world is an ethically ambiguous, morally thoughtful, and deeply vexing drama about the fragility of civil order and the menace of the lawless.
