E-Waste Recycling Event

Welcome

Middle Tennessee State University is proud to join the TBR partnership with Tennessee State University, Austin Peay State University, Volunteer State Community College and the Tennessee Technology Center at Nashville in co-sponsoring an E-Waste Recycling Event Thursday, May 14, and Friday, May 15, at LP Field in Nashville.

MTSU urges its friends and neighbors to use this is an opportunity to rescue an environment that is becoming more and more cluttered with the byproducts of progress and technology. On those designated days, trucks will be in Parking Lot D at LP Field for people to drop off their used and broken electronic equipment to be recycled. Thursday and Friday's collection will be earmarked particularly for colleges, schools, government agencies, local businesses and non-profit organizations. Saturday, May 16, will be open to the general public.

Organizers want to make it clear that while these days are designated for particular groups, materials will be accepted from anyone at anytime throughout those three days.

LP Field is located at 1 Titans Way between exits 48 and 49 off of I-24. The stadium is easily accessible from either exit. Once again, the recycling drop-off area is in Parking Lot D.

Groups planning to drop off e-waste should register in advance for a drop-off date at http://tennessee.poweron.com/p/register. The site also includes comprehensive details on the event.

These Recycling Services are courtesy of Apple, Inc. They have assumed the financial burden of having the 18-wheeler trucks here to load the materials, as well as forklifts, pallets, shrink-wrap and any other necessities. Perhaps one of the most significant contributions is the labor they will provide. They are skilled laborers and have experience in handling heavy objects. No one will need to exit his or her vehicle upon arriving at the event site. The laborers will do all the unloading, which should eliminate extensive wait time.

MTSU Property

All MTSU-specific property must be disposed of according to university procedures. Do not take MTSU property to the eWaste event for disposal. If you have MTSU property earmarked for recycling, or have other questions concerning MTSU recycling, please call the MTSU Recycling Program at 615-898-2822.

Thank you for your help and support.
