As one of the Transition Managers, Miss Emily Steinway assists the five-goal mission of the Charlie and Hazel Daniels Veterans and Military Family Center by means of “Encouraging, Educating, and Expanding.” Emily seeks to bring future and current students opportunities and information on how to successfully traverse the academic environment as a military-benefit user here at MTSU, be it prior learning assessments or discussions of current issues experienced by students. As a graduate student herself, Emily utilizes her personal experience to assist student veterans.

Miss Steinway graduated from Aurora University with a degree in Elementary Education in 2010. Following graduation, Emily was a substitute teacher in School District U-46. In 2012, she joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Guam aboard the USS Frank Cable. Throughout her time in the Navy, Emily repaired vessels, managed the sponsorship program, and coordinated the ship’s indoctrination program. After separating from the Navy in 2016, she started graduate school at MTSU, where she worked as a student-worker in the Daniels Center under the guidance of Mr. Ray Howell. Emily enjoys traveling, sports, outdoor activities and she looks forward to assisting the student veterans of MTSU.
