Biography

Dr. Jette Halladay is the founder of VOICES Arts Institute for Youth, MTSU ArtSeason for Children, and MTSU International Children's Theatre Touring Company. Her productions and workshops have been seen by audiences in Russia, Britain, Finland, Latvia and, in spring of 2006 Honduras. Dr. Jette Halladay is the founder of VOICES Arts Institute for Youth, MTSU ArtSeason for Children, and MTSU International Children's Theatre Touring Company. Her productions and workshops have been seen by audiences in Russia, Britain, Finland, Latvia and, in spring of 2006 Honduras. Dr. Halladay received her undergraduate degree in Theatre from Brigham Young University, which included an internship at The Empire Youth Theatre Institute in New York. She worked as a Teacher/Artist for California Young People's Theatre before returning to school to get her PhD in Theatre in Education from the University of Utah. She has received several grants for her Public Service and Research and Creative Activity, as well as, the MTSU Foundation Award for directing and touring American Tall Tales in Eastern Europe. Her latest project is working in collaboration with other Theatre Faculty, as well as, faculty from the university at large in assisting the village of La Cane, Honduras in achieving their goals of education for their youth and a financial boost for their citizens. She currently teaches Child Drama, Storytelling, Theatre in Education and Drama Across the Curriculum...as well as, teaching early morning seminary and working on Jacob 2:18-19.
