Dr. Sheehan-Smith has been teaching full time at MTSU for 20 years.  She is the director of the accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics.  She teaches HSC 6530 Effective Program Management, NFS 1010 Career Orientation in Dietetics, NFS 3280 Sports Nutrition, NFS 4010 Professional Skills in Dietetics, NFS 4020 Senior Seminar in Dietetics, NFS 4320 EXL Food Systems Management, and NFS 4322 EXL Dietetics Management.

Dr. Sheehan-Smith received one of the 2015 MTSU Outstanding Teacher and Outstanding Experiential Learning Faculty Awards.  She is a past recipient of the Outstanding Dietetics Educator Award from the Nashville and Tennessee Academies of Nutrition and Dietetics.
