Dr. Wandi Ding
Dr. Ding is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Middle Tennessee State University. She serves as faculty for the Interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Computational Science Program, as well as the Honors College.
Dr. Ding's research interests include || mathematical biology || computational biology || optimal control || mathematical modeling || ordinary and partial differential equations || difference equations || and || hybrid systems || with applications to || population dynamics || disease modeling || natural resource management || and || systems biology. ||
Dr. Ding's research focuses on understanding the spatial and temporal patterns that arise in dynamic biological systems and, when possible, finding the best way to control the system. See Research for details.
SCUDEM - Dr. Ding is the Local Host and Faculty Coach for Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) site for National Student Competition Using Differential Equations Modeling - SCUDEM. Our Team members are: Ben Burton, Ryan Florida and Jeffery Summers.
SCUDEM takes place over a week-long period that begins on each team's individual home campus and culminates on Saturday, April 21, 2018, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, at a regional host site in the United States and beyond. So far 2484 undergraduate students, 828 faculty coach in US and beyond have committed to participate in SCUDEM. A Faculty Development Program and Math Bowl will also be held on April 21, 2018.
