Summer Immersion Research Courses - Summer 2016

When: May 9 - 27 (M-F), MTSU's Maymester for 40 hours per week for three weeks.

Who can apply: Students who have participated in a FirstSTEP program.

Benefits: Great research experience, scholarship for tuition for the course, and a $1,500 stipend for completing the entire research experience.

Application Deadline: Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 11:59pm CST. Students who are accepted will receive information about how to register for the summer course and where to meet for the first day of class. Notification of awards is expected around March 30th.

The College of Basic and Applied Sciences and the Department of Mathematical Sciences announce
FirstSTEP to Success in College for Science, Technology, Engineering & Math Majors

FirstSTEP is a five year, 2 million dollar grant funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) titled "Mathematics as a FirstSTEP to Success in STEM."; The goal of FirstSTEP is to increase retention of first-time, full-time freshman (FTFTF) STEM majors.

FirstSTEP is a two-year enrichment program which provides financial and academic support for participating students.
