Global Studies courses are selected from over 200 courses in five colleges at MTSU. Students may choose to create an emphasis within the Global Studies major by selecting classes that specialize in culture, business, history, or science. The student choosing to have an emphasis in culture or history will take courses largely from the liberal and fine arts and the humanities; those wishing to have an emphasis in international business will choose courses from disciplines such as business, finance, and economics; those who choose to have an emphasis in global science, i.e.. Global Health, will typically take courses in basic and applied sciences or human/behavioral science. Within all of the varying paths our students may take in the Global Studies degree the primary goal of the Global Studies major is to broaden the world perspective of students and prepare them for the global marketplace.
