BIOL 4570/5570 Principles of Toxicology. 3 credits. Two hours lecture and 3 hours laboratory. Offered spring semester in odd numbered years.

Prerequisites: BIOL 1110, 1120, CHEM 1110, 1120, 3010 or consent of instructor.

The study of adverse effects of chemical agents on living organisms. Students will learn current toxicological techniques in the laboratory portion of the course.

BIOL 4590/6590 Environmental Toxicology. 4 credits. 3 hours lecture and 3 hours laboratory per week. Offered spring semester in even numbered years.

Prerequisites: BIOL 1110, 1120, CHEM 1110, 1120, 3020 (or equivalent courses) or consent of instructor.

Ecological effects of chemicals in the environment and techniques currently utilized to assess these effects will be covered in the lecture. Current environmental assessment techniques, including biomonitoring, will be covered in the laboratory.
