Dr. Keying Ding - Courses

CHEM 1110, General Chemistry I, 3 credit hours.  Fundamental concepts of atomic structure, molecular structure and bonding, chemical reactions, stoichiometric relationships, periodic properties of the elements, thermochemistry, and properties of gases. Three hours of lecture.

Prerequisites: High school chemistry; CHEM1010 or equivalent. Corequisite: CHEM 1111.

CHEM 1111, General Chemistry I Lab

Corequisite: CHEM1110

CHEM 1120, General Chemistry II, 3 credit hours.  Introduce fundamental understanding of solid/liquid phase transitions, chemical  kinetics,  acid/base  chemistry, chemical  equilibrium, thermodynamics, electrochemistry, and transition metal chemistry. Preparation for higher-level chemistry courses.

Prerequisite: CHEM1110. Corequisite: CHEM 1121.
