The Dyslexic Studies program at MTSU offers an interdisciplinary 18-credit-hour program leading to a certificate in Dyslexic Studies. Content is significantly rooted in the research base that defines dyslexia, guides identification, and informs the content and strategies for effective instruction. The Graduate Certificate in Dyslexic Studies provides real answers to real questions:
Prerequisites for admission are a certificate in a field that is integral to the education of P-12 students, documentation of three or more years of successful experience in the career field, and permission of the program advisor. In 1993, the Tennessee Center for the Study and Treatment of Dyslexia was established by the Tennessee General Assembly to assist K-10 students with dyslexia, their teachers, and their families. To be admitted to the Certificate in Dyslexic Studies program,
a student must submit the following to the College of Graduate Studies:
Online application and appropriate application fee
Official transcript of all colleges, universities (including business and technical schools). If the transcripts are issued from an international (non-US) institution, a course-by course analysis is required. Original non-US transcripts should be submitted directly to the evaluation service.
